Cairo Luxor & Aswan with Nile Cruise (8 days) Program

Day 1:

Departure from the Taba border for your Cairo Luxor & Aswan with Nile Cruise tour.

You will be greeted and assisted through passport control and customs by our courteous and knowledgeable representatives (at both the Israeli and Egyptian border stations).

Immediately after customs clearance, you will depart for Cairo in fully air-conditioned vehicles. You will be captivated by the stark desert landscape as you make your way towards Egypt’s capital city.

You will stop along the way at the Oriental Rest-house for refreshments and complete the final leg of this portion of the journey.

Overnight at your hotel in Cairo.

Note: if you choose to travel by air from Tel Aviv, you will be greeted and assisted by our representatives through passport control and customs at Cairo Airport – transfer to the hotel.

Day 2:

You will spend the day sightseeing and enjoying a guided tour.

You will visit Memphis, the site believed to be the ancient capital of Egypt which reached its apogee under the kings of the Old Kingdom. You will then proceed to Sakkara, site of the famous step pyramid. The next stop will be the Great Pyramids of Giza, and then on to the Valley Temple of King Khephren and the Sphinx – a lion couchant with King’s head. After this you will visit a renowned papyrus Factory. You will return to the hotel for a free evening – overnight at the hotel in Cairo.

Day 3:

Early buffet breakfast at the hotel.

Afterwards you will be transferred to Cairo Airport for a domestic flight to Luxor as part of your Cairo Luxor & Aswan with Nile Cruise tour.

You will land at Luxor Domestic Airport where you will be met and assisted by our courteous and knowledgeable local representative. From the airport you will be driven to the West Bank of the Nile for a sightseeing tour that will include a visit to the Valley of the Kings where late dynastic kings prepared rock-hewn tombs for themselves, which as a rule, kept to the same general plan. You will also view the Colossi of Memnon – two 53 foot high seated statues of Amenophis III and then on to El Deir El Bahari (The Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut) which is a terrace temple, and its layout is unique in Egypt where the Temple rises with the three terraces that are connected by central ramps.

You will embark on the cruise before lunch, and then you will enjoy a lavish repast on board. After lunch, you will also visit the East Bank – “The Karnak & Luxor Temples (less than 2 miles apart)”. Here you will see the Imperial Temple and the wide avenue of Sphinxes. Valley of the Kings, El Deir El Bahari (temple of Hatshepsut) and the Colossi of Memnon. After this afternoon sightseeing excursion you will return to the cruise ship for dinner and overnight on board in Luxor.

Day 4:

You will be served breakfast on board.

In the afternoon, you will Sail to Isna, a small town built near the Nile. You will be served lunch on Board.

You will pass through the Isna Lock on the Nile, and continue south towards Idfu, another small town on the left bank of the Nile. You will enjoy dinner on board and overnight in Idfu.

Day 5:

Breakfast on board – visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu. This Temple, excavated by Mariette, and one of the best preserved in Egypt, was dedicated to the Sun-god, Hathor, but also to the Hathor of Dandora, and the young Harsomtus. You will be served lunch on board and then sail to Kom Ombo. Here you will visit the temple shared by the two Gods Sobek and Haroeris. Afterwards, you will return to the ship, and sail to Aswan. You will be served dinner on board and overnight in Aswan.

Day 6:

You will have breakfast on board.

Afterwards you will participate in a full day guided tour of Aswan. First, you will visit the famous dams. The original one was built over a century ago in 1902, and admired by all. The old dam has been demoted to the rank of a mere reservoir dam, but the great “New High Dam”, inaugurated in 1971, the Sad el Ali, is very impressive. You will also see the Unfinished Obelisk. Afternoon spent in Felucca (traditional sailing aboard a period boat) Excursion on the Nile – enjoy a panoramic view of the Elephantine Island, a former fortified Egyptian frontier post. You will also tour the Agha Khan Mausoleum (he maintained a winter villa in Aswan) – dinner and overnight on board in Aswan.

Day 7:

You will be served breakfast on board, and afterwards, you will disembark. From here, you will transfer to the Aswan Domestic Airport for a domestic flight to Cairo. After your arrival at Cairo airport, you will be met and assisted by our local representatives and transferred to your hotel in Cairo for check-in and overnight in Cairo.

Day 8:

Buffet breakfast at the hotel on the last day of your Cairo Luxor & Aswan with Nile Cruise tour.

08:00 AM Bus departure from Cairo to Israel – stop on the way at the Oriental Rest-house for refreshments – proceed to Taba – arrival at Taba Border – you will be greeted and assisted through passport control and the customs authorities by our local representatives at the Taba border (at both the Egyptian and Israeli border stations).

Note: The cruise itinerary might change in sequence due to unforeseen navigational requirements, but not in sights visited.
